This project was especially fun because we had a lot of creative freedom. I was a little stuck with what my theme would be, but as time went on I realized my book was all around me. The fall is such a spectacular time for photography so I took full advantage of the season in my piece. I started off shooting at a beautiful farm, capturing the quintessential “fall scenes” which used both nature and two friends who were on the trip with me. I then moved on to shoot at one of the most fantastic places; my home in Vermont. There are so many places to photograph and capture the true beauty of the outdoors. I titled my book “Exploration” simply because although many of these scenes are familiar to me, I was exploring them through an entirely new lens. It was fun playing with natural light throughout this piece. I think the sun’s light is one of the best tools a photographer could use. This really enhanced the natural aspect of my piece.
Evie,
I really enjoy the approach that you chose to take with this book. The landscapes of Vermont were beautiful and truly captured the essence the state. The most intriguing part of your book was how you were able to provide a balanced amount of broad, landscape images, as well as more intimate (close-up) images. This was especially cool because it gave a whole range of focal points to look at. Well done!
