This image stood out to me right away when searching through the selected works of the artists. I like the contrast in the image, and also the strong depth of field which is developed into the distance. Not only that, but it seemed very significant that this photo was taken back in 1927, but still relates to today’s society and issues so strongly. Climate change is a significant concern today, and the pollution from the smoke stacks in this image can be seen beginning that damage. It is almost like this photo could have been dated 2020 and still had the exact same effect and impact.
