The Perfect Moment by Robert Mapplethrope was a very controversial collection. 7 of the 175 pictures in the collection were the most problematic. They featured 2 naked minors, 1 female and 1 male. This clearly is an issue because it is illegal. He exploited these minors and spread pornographic pictures. If I were to look at this situation from Mapplethorpe’s perspective, I understand that he was trying to capture a certain image and to him, he only saw it as art. However, in the 1990s in Ohio, this is clearly not acceptable.
