Civil Rights Movement.

Martin Luther King Jr. at a rally on the steps of the Alabama state capitol, in Montgomery.

I like how this photographer although being white he took action during this time with his camera. He stood up for equality, although at the time he didn’t know that today his photograph will be iconic. I especially like this photograph of Martin Luther King Jr. taken on the steps of the Alabama state capital, in Montgomery. Martin Luther King Jr. became the most visible spokesperson and civil rights leader until his assassination. Although being continually discriminated against King always formed non violent protests never letting the people get the best of him. I feel this picture shows power, and his facial expression gives me the feel that he will not show defeat no matter the circumstance. This picture depicts a very powerful tone.
