Central Park, New York City by Garry Winogard (American, 1928 – 1984) New York, New York, United States (Place Created), probably March 26, 1967 is a long depth of field, black and white photo that showcases a woman with a crowd behind her. There seems to be some sort of event taking place at this time, the woman unfazed by those behind her and staring confidently into the photo.
There’s a lot of things unique about this photograph, mainly the pose of the woman and her facial expression. She doesn’t seem too caught of by there being a camera in front of her. It’s not only her facial expression that is interesting, but the ones behind her. If possible, the artist could’ve had the camera focused only on her but he didn’t.
