Title: Men Checking Out Mannequins on the Street
Artist: Ken Heyman
Year: 1973
Medium: Vintage gelatin silver print

This photograph is of three men walking through a city. Their eyes are on two plastic mannequins. The composition of this image seems as though the photographer was standing in the street waiting for pedestrians, and caught their glance as they walked by. I chose this image because I think that though it is from 1973, the underlying message it sends still rings true today. The men are clearly fascinated by the body of the mannequins despite them being made of plastic. Further, the body of these mannequins is entirely unrealistic, which sends the wrong message to society. Overall not only was my eye caught my the composition and contrast in this image, but it was also drawn in to the message which it seems to send.
