One topic that came to mind when thinking about labor as a whole is slavery. This is because of the endless amount of labor which African Americans were forced to undergo during the time of slavery in America. I found this essay to be particular effective in portraying slavery and all the cruelty which came with it. Part of what makes is so successful in doing so is the variety of subject and media which were put together to form this essay. With a mix of old news pieces to images of actual slaves, a lot can be taken away from this essay, which reflects upon labor as a whole.
