In searching through portraits, this one in particular caught my eye. I found the subjects, composition, and emotion to all be particularly unique. In the photo, two young African American girls are sitting side by side in white dresses. The young girls seem to be sisters or twins as they share very similar features. Both girls are showing no emotion on their face sending a solemn message. Something that stood out to me in this portrait is the photographers choice to make the image black and white. This greatly alters the composition of the photo as the white dresses contrast greatly with the background of the photo. Overall I found this image to be very effective in sending emotion to the viewer, despite the subjects putting fourth almost no emotions at all.
