Voyiazis – Miniatures

This image struck me as interesting because of the composition, subjects, and limited array of colors used. The photo depicts two HAZMAT figurines curiously looking at a substance leaked from a massive container. The scale proportions used give the photo a feeling of reality combined with comedy. What really gives the photo a realistic sense is the positioning and posing of the figurines. They have a lifelike motion to them and since their faces are covered by the shields, they could be passed off as real humans if the large bottle wasn’t there. The reflections in the liquid also give the photo dimensionality and depth . The combination of colors in the photo also make the composition strong. The very dark and gloomy liquid blends with the background, but the bright green of the figurines gives a stark contrast that makes up for a small percentage in contrast to the dull colors that surround them. All of these techniques set up a visually appealing photo that has astonishingly realistic qualities and seems like a scene out of a science fiction movie.
