Voyiazis – Street Photography

This photo was taken in Quakertown near the historic Quakertown train station that can be seen on the right side of the photo. This is a photo of a garage, or mechanic’s shop with one of their tow trucks sitting outside. The truck, for as long as I’ve known it, has been sitting outside with the elements causing the paint to fade and create rust along the bumper and fenders. I tried to take this photo from an angle where the vanishing point of the curb, power lines, and street lines would be behind the truck and the perpendicular sunlight also gives the photo more depth.

These three photographs were taken at the Quakertown train station and I tried to capture the beauty of the classic architecture as well as in the context of how they stand today. I tried to incorporate a large vertical object in each one of these photographs to break up the horizontal lines that leave the image looking flat as well as to give a sense of scale.
